Account & subscription

Your account manages plans and orders; subscription profiles connect your client. First work out whether you're dealing with a sign-in issue or a configuration update.

What information do I need to create an account, and how do I sign in?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password in the user panel, then store your login details in a trusted password manager. You can use the same account on other devices. Creating an account is separate from activating a plan; check your plan status in the panel to see whether you have an active subscription. If you forget your login details, don't post account screenshots in public forums. If you can still sign in, contact support through a panel ticket and redact sensitive details such as subscription links from screenshots.

How do I update my subscription link? Do I need to import it again afterward?

Sign in to the user panel and check your current plan status in the subscription section. Then open the subscription or configuration manager in your client, find the VPNWest profile, and update it. Once the update succeeds, make sure the route list appears correctly, then connect to a route. In most cases, update the existing profile rather than adding another subscription with the same name. If the subscription link in the panel has changed, replace the old source with the current link or import it again. Remove any outdated profiles only after the import is complete, so you don't delete one you're still using.

Do I need to buy another plan when I switch computers or add a device?

VPNWest has no device limit, so switching devices doesn't require another plan. Sign in to the same user panel on the new device, download the client for its platform, and import your current subscription. Supported platforms are Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux; follow the instructions in the panel to get the client. No device limit does not mean you can claim extra data, so keep an eye on your plan status and remaining data. Before handing an old device to someone else, sign out and remove any saved subscription profiles.

Can I share my subscription link so someone can help troubleshoot?

A subscription link is an account access credential. Don't post it in group chats, forums, or public screenshots. Troubleshooting usually only requires your device platform, the client's error message, selected region, and the circumstances of the issue—not the full link. If you think the link has been exposed, check whether the panel offers an option to reset or replace it and follow the on-screen instructions. If you can't find one, contact support through a ticket. After the link changes, update the subscription source on all your devices so outdated profiles don't keep generating errors.

Should I choose a monthly plan or a data pack?

If you use the service regularly and prefer a monthly data allowance, compare the monthly plans by data tier. If your usage is more occasional or unpredictable, consider a data pack that stays valid until the data runs out and never expires. Monthly plan data resets each month on your activation date; data packs draw down from the remaining balance. Consider your video, download, and everyday browsing habits rather than judging usage by device count alone. See the plans page for full pricing. Check the panel for the current status after combining or switching plans; don't assume data balances will merge.

Connections & troubleshooting

Check your local network first, then your subscription and client, and finally the message from the app you're trying to use. This helps pinpoint where the issue occurs.

The client says I'm connected, but websites won't load. What should I check first?

Disconnect the proxy and check that your local network can open everyday websites. Then check your plan status and remaining data in the panel. Update the subscription, select a route again, and try opening the site in a browser. If only one site has a problem, note its exact error instead of assuming the entire connection is down. Also check that your device's clock is correct and that another tool hasn't changed your system proxy settings. Change one setting at a time and check the result before proceeding; changing routes, rules, and network settings all at once makes the cause harder to identify.

Why does my browser work, but a particular app won't use the proxy?

Apps can handle proxy settings differently. A working browser doesn't mean every app will use the system proxy: some need separate configuration, while others may be affected by the client's routing rules. Check that the client is in a proxy mode suited to your needs, then see whether a rule is sending the app directly. If the client offers an option to route system traffic, read the platform's guidance before enabling it. After changing settings, fully quit and reopen the app. Keep your original settings so you can restore them if the change doesn't help.

What should I do if subscription import fails or the route list is empty?

Get the current subscription link from the panel again. When copying, make sure you haven't missed any characters or included spaces or extra text. Confirm that your device's local network works, then check that the client supports the import method you're using. If you already have a profile, keep it for now; try updating its source and check the error message instead of creating multiple profiles that are hard to tell apart. When submitting a ticket, say whether the import failed, the update failed, or the list is empty, and attach a screenshot with sensitive details redacted. Never share the full subscription link publicly for troubleshooting.

Do I need to reinstall after sleep or switching networks disconnects me?

Check the connection first; reinstalling usually isn't the first step. After a device wakes from sleep or switches networks, the existing connection may need to be re-established. Make sure the new network works, then disconnect and reconnect in the client. If the issue persists, quit and reopen the client, then check that the system proxy is working as expected. On mobile devices, check whether background activity or battery-saving restrictions are affecting the client. If the issue keeps happening in the same situation, note the network types before and after switching and the client's message to help support investigate.

ChatGPT and other AI tools won't open. Will switching routes fix it?

Not necessarily. AI tools may depend on more than network connectivity: account status, service region, sign-in environment, and the platform's own usage rules can also matter. First identify whether the page won't load at all, sign-in fails, or a region or permission message appears after you open it. Check your subscription and route while keeping your account environment consistent. If the platform explicitly reports an account restriction, follow its guidance. Avoid repeatedly switching regions and sign-in states to test; changing routes can't replace eligibility requirements set by the platform.

Speed & routes

Choose routes based on the apps you actually use. When comparing them, keep the test content consistent; a single speed test, geographic distance, or route name isn't a guarantee of performance.

Things slow down during peak hours. Should I switch routes or check my local network?

Pause background downloads, cloud syncing, and other bandwidth-heavy tasks, then check whether everyday websites are also slow on the same network. If local browsing is affected too, check your Wi-Fi signal, router, and internet connection first. If the slowdown mainly affects international access, update your subscription and compare routes using the same app and similar conditions. Don't change networks and test different content at the same time, or it will be difficult to tell what made a difference. If the slowdown keeps happening, note when it occurs, the selected region, and the app, then report it through a ticket.

With so many regions available, how should I choose a route for everyday use?

VPNWest covers 120+ countries / 210+ routes, but you don't need to try them all. Start with regions supported by the service you want to use, then compare how they perform on your local network. A shorter distance can be a useful starting point, but it doesn't guarantee a more stable connection; network paths, congestion, and the destination site all affect performance. Once you find a route that works well with your usual apps, keep it as your everyday option and have alternatives in mind. Check the user panel and your updated subscription for currently available regions and routes.

Why are videos or downloads still slow when a speed test looks fine?

Speed tests, video platforms, and file hosts may use different servers and network paths, so one test can't represent every app. For video issues, check whether playback starts slowly, keeps buffering, or automatically drops in quality, then look at background bandwidth use and player settings. Downloads may also be limited by the source site. When comparing routes, use the same content under similar network conditions so changes in the source aren't mistaken for route differences. A platform's regional rules can also affect access; a speed test alone can't confirm compatibility.

Why does the same route perform differently on different networks?

Your experience depends on your local connection, the path across networks, and the destination site. Switching the same device to another network can change the route and congestion, so the route name alone can't predict performance. To troubleshoot, keep the client, configuration, and target app the same while testing a different network, then return to the original network and compare candidate routes. Public Wi-Fi may require you to complete its normal sign-in process first. When reporting the issue, describe the type of network where the difference occurs; don't share your precise location or account credentials.

Do I need to switch regions often for work or long-lived AI sessions?

For long-lived connections, streaming output, and work that requires you to stay signed in, find a route that meets the service's regional requirements and works reliably, then keep your environment consistent. Switching regions frequently can interrupt active sessions and make account prompts harder to troubleshoot. If performance drops, save your work, check your local network and client status, then retry with another candidate route. VPNWest provides network connectivity; account permissions, platform rate limits, and regional service rules are determined by the platform. A successful connection doesn't confirm that the service is working as intended.

Billing & refunds

Check your plan type and order details first. Monthly plans and data packs have different data rules; review the Terms of Service before requesting a refund.

How much do monthly plans cost, and when does data reset?

¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Monthly plan data resets each month on your activation date, not at the start of the calendar month. Check your current plan, remaining data, and reset details in the panel before deciding whether to change tiers. If you stream video or transfer files often, choose based on your actual usage rather than price alone. The panel shows what is available after a plan status change. If it doesn't match your order, provide the order details through a ticket.

How much do data packs cost, and do they expire if unused?

¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. Data packs never expire and remain available until used up. They're suited to irregular usage where you want to use the remaining data at your own pace, unlike monthly plans, which reset each month on your activation date. Before using a pack, check the active plan and remaining data in the panel; monthly reset rules don't apply to data packs. If you plan to keep or switch between different plans, read the panel guidance first. Don't assume how data is combined or deducted when the rules don't specify it.

What happens to the price difference if I upgrade my plan mid-cycle?

For a mid-cycle upgrade to a monthly plan, the price difference is prorated based on the remaining days. Before proceeding, review your current plan and the upgrade page in the panel, and check the new tier, data, and term details. Don't calculate the amount due from the listed prices alone or assume that an upgrade immediately recalculates the entire billing period. If the result shown on the page isn't clear, keep your current plan and ask through a ticket. This upgrade rule applies to monthly plans; don't assume it applies to switching between data packs or to other combinations not described here.

Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my plan status doesn't update after payment?

Alipay / WeChat / USDT. Before paying, check the plan, amount, and payment instructions on your order, and use the payment option provided in the panel. If your plan status hasn't updated after payment, return to the order page and check the result before taking further action; a page that hasn't refreshed doesn't mean you should pay again. If you still have questions, submit a ticket with the order details, payment status, and message shown on the page. Redact unrelated account information from screenshots. Don't share payment credentials publicly or use payment details from messages outside the panel. Verify the order status in the panel.

What is the refund policy, and where do I apply?

Refunds are available within 7 days, no questions asked. See the Terms of Service for the full eligibility rules. To request a refund, sign in to the user panel, open a support ticket, explain that you'd like a refund, and include your order details and current plan information for verification. A clear explanation is enough; you don't need to keep testing the connection to apply. Don't post full payment credentials, passwords, or subscription links in public forums. Check your ticket in the panel for updates. The final refund status depends on the actual processing result. This page doesn't promise a processing time beyond what's stated in the terms.
