VPNWest Connection Guide
Create an account, get your subscription, import it into a client, and connect for the first time.
If you already have an account or have installed a client, jump to the relevant step below. This page covers setup; for how server routing works and the network requirements for AI tools, see the AI Acceleration Guide →
Create an Account and Sign In to the Dashboard
Select the “Start Free” option below to open the VPNWest dashboard’s account creation page. No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Choose a username you’ll recognize, and use a password stored securely that you haven’t reused on other sites. Before submitting, check your entries, including your input method and whether you’ve accidentally added a space to the password.
Once your account is created, follow the on-screen instructions to open the dashboard. If you land on the sign-in screen, use the username and password you just saved. Find “Account Overview” and confirm that your account details are visible before choosing a plan. “Start Free” takes you to the account setup process; plan prices and data allowances are listed on the plans page.
Store your login details in a trusted password manager. Don’t share your password or stay signed in on a public computer. If you already have an account, sign in to that account to avoid confusion when checking orders later. If you can’t see a subscription or available data yet, complete the next step, then return to the overview and check again.
Start FreeChoose a Plan and Review Your Order
After signing in, open the plans section in the dashboard. First, distinguish between “Monthly Plans” and “Data Packages,” then compare data allowances. Monthly plans suit ongoing use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Monthly data resets on your activation date each month, not at the start of the calendar month. Consider your typical usage before choosing: messaging, file transfers, and video streaming all use different amounts of data. Don’t base your choice on the number of devices alone.
For occasional use, consider a data package: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, or ¥658/3000GB. Data is deducted as you use it, and the package never expires. Both plan types support unlimited devices, but all devices use data from the same account allowance. If you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Review the change details shown in the dashboard before proceeding; don’t calculate it as a full month yourself.
After choosing a plan, check its name, price, and data allowance on the order page, then select Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. Follow the payment instructions. When finished, return to the dashboard to check your order and plan status. If the payment page confirms completion but the dashboard hasn’t updated, refresh the relevant page and check the order before creating another one.
VPNWest offers a 7-day no-questions-asked refund. See the full policy in the Terms of Service. For payment and refund questions, visit the Help Center. Once your plan is active, get your subscription next. Completing payment does not automatically configure the client on all your devices.
Choose This PlanGet Your Subscription from the Account Overview
Return to the account overview in the dashboard and find your subscription details or the client import section. A subscription isn’t a single server; it lets your client retrieve configuration details and a list of servers. The client can display available locations after you import it. If no subscription is available, first check that you’re signed in to the correct account and that your plan is active.
If you already have a client installed, use the dashboard’s matching import option. Your browser may ask to open an external app. Check that the app name is what you expect before allowing it to open. If the client doesn’t launch or isn’t installed on your device, copy the link manually instead of repeatedly clicking the same import button.
To import manually, use the dashboard’s copy function to get the full subscription link, then paste it into your client’s “Import from Link” or “Add Subscription” option. Don’t use the dashboard sign-in page URL as the subscription link or edit the parameters at the end. This guide doesn’t show a real subscription link; the example below is for identifying the format only and can’t be used to connect.
https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN
Your subscription link is an account access credential. Don’t post it in public chats or forums, or submit it to online conversion sites. If you share a screenshot for help, hide the full link and your account details. If you think the link has been exposed, check the dashboard for a reset option or contact support through a ticket. Once you’ve saved the link securely, continue to the next section and choose your device platform.
Open the Account OverviewImport on Each Platform
Download clients from the dashboard. This page doesn’t provide direct download links to installers. You can download the Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux clients after signing in; you don’t need to have purchased a plan. To get an active subscription, follow the plan steps shown in the dashboard. The iOS download option requires an active plan; follow the instructions displayed in the dashboard. First select the right platform, then import using the subscription format recommended in the dashboard. Don’t choose a format based only on a similar name.
Windows: Add a Remote Subscription
Download the VPNWest client for Windows from the dashboard and follow the installation instructions. When you first open it, look for “Configuration,” “Subscription,” or a similar management option. Use the subscription client and format recommended in the dashboard. If there’s an import button for the matching app, return to your browser and use it. To import manually, choose the option to add a configuration from a URL or link, paste the full subscription address, and give it a name you’ll recognize.
Save the subscription, then update it or download the configuration. Wait for the server list to appear, then set this configuration as active. Seeing a configuration name without any servers usually means you’re not ready to connect. Next, choose a server on the main screen and enable the system proxy. If the client asks you to select a network mode or grant additional permissions, read the prompt before confirming; you don’t need to enable every option.
macOS: Import and Check the System Proxy
Choose the macOS client in the dashboard and install it by following the device and system prompts. If macOS asks for permission when you first launch the app, verify its source. Don’t disable system security settings just to complete installation. Open the client’s configuration or subscription management screen and use the matching import option in the dashboard, or choose to add a remote subscription from a link. Save and update it, then check that the server list appears.
Set the newly imported configuration as active, then enable the connection from the main screen or menu bar. Some clients have separate controls for selecting a server and enabling the system proxy, so selecting a location alone doesn’t mean your browser is using that route. If testing fails, check here first to make sure the system proxy is enabled instead of importing the same subscription again.
Android: Update Your Subscription and Allow the Connection
Sign in to the dashboard and download the Android client. Follow the system prompts to install it. Open the app and go to “Configuration,” “Subscription Management,” or the add-configuration option. Choose to import from a link and paste the full subscription address copied from the dashboard. You can name the local configuration VPNWest. Update it, check that the server list has loaded, then return to the connection screen and select this configuration.
When you connect for the first time, Android may show a VPN connection request. Check that it came from the client you just installed, then allow it. Check the connection status in the app and the system status bar. If the connection drops when you switch apps, check the system’s background activity and battery settings. You don’t need to grant permissions unrelated to network access.
iOS: Add a Configuration from the Dashboard
Sign in to the dashboard in a browser on your iOS device and open the downloads section. If you have an active plan, use the App Store link provided in the dashboard to get the matching client. Otherwise, follow the dashboard’s instructions about your plan. Once the app is installed, return to the dashboard and use the import option for that app. When your browser asks whether to open the app, confirm so the client can receive the subscription.
To import manually, find the subscription management or add configuration from URL option in the client, paste the link, and update it. Select the imported configuration and a server, then connect. If iOS asks to add a VPN configuration, check the app name before allowing it and complete the system verification on your device. Don’t paste the subscription link into the manual server address field in Settings; that’s a different configuration option.
Connect to a Server and Verify It Works
After importing, select the active configuration in your client, then choose a server from the location list. VPNWest covers 120+ countries and offers 210+ servers. Choose a location based on the region required by the site you want to access, then test how it performs; a shorter distance doesn’t guarantee a better experience. For more on choosing a server, see Global Servers. For now, focus on connecting successfully.
Connect and make sure the client’s status changes. Also check that the system proxy is enabled on desktop or that VPN permission is active on your mobile device. Reopen your browser and visit the site you want to use. Check whether the page loads fully, you can continue signing in, and common features work. A “Connected” status means the local connection process has started; you still need to test whether the site works.
If regular websites load but an AI tool or streaming service still reports an account or regional issue, distinguish network connectivity from the platform’s own rules. Your exit location, account status, subscription eligibility, and platform policies can all affect the outcome. A successful connection doesn’t guarantee access to every service. See our ChatGPT Access Guide. To understand the differences between the web app and API, read the AI Acceleration Guide.
If none of the sites you want to use will load, check your local connection, confirm that the subscription updated, make sure the right configuration is selected, and verify that the connection is enabled. Change one setting at a time and test again. This makes it easier to identify the cause than switching locations, modes, and clients all at once. If the problem persists, describe your device platform, the message shown by the client, and what you’ve tried in a dashboard support ticket. Hide your password and subscription link.
Once everything works, keep using the current configuration. When you switch devices, sign in to the same account to get your subscription, then follow the import steps for that platform. Unlimited devices doesn’t mean each device gets a separate data allowance, and it doesn’t mean you can share your account credentials publicly. Check your plan and data status in the account overview regularly so you don’t mistake a plan issue for a server problem.
